XBee Studio introduces a new tool to deploy pre-defined setups into one or several XBee devices in a quick and easy way. These setups can go from getting started processes or simple configurations that demonstrate different features of XBee devices, to more elaborated demos that include MicroPython applications and other components to form a complete system.
Choose the setup
The first thing you need to do is to choose the setup you want to apply:
-
Click the desired setup from the list. You can review the requirements and description of the setup in the right panel.
-
Click Start. A new tab opens for the selected setup.
Select the devices
In the next step of the quick setup process, you have to select the devices you want to configure and decide which role applies to each one. Depending on the setup you have chosen, there could be just one role or more. Each role box on the main pane contains information on the number of devices required.
-
Drag each device that you want to configure from the left list and drop it into a role box.
-
Click Next.
| The device list on the left side only shows those devices that are compatible with the selected setup. If you don’t see any, this means that none of your local devices is compatible with the setup. |
Configure specific parameters
Depending on the selected setup, you might need to fill in some required and/or optional configurations. The required ones are marked with an asterisk.
-
Fill in the required and/or optional configurations.
-
Click Next.
Review the setup
The last step before configuring your devices is to review the setup. This includes both, the devices you have previously assigned to each role, and the configurations you have filled in. When you are ready and have verified everything is correct, click Start.
Set up your devices
In this step, your devices will be configured according to the role you have assigned to each one and the selected configurations. You can see the progress of the process in the table.
Test the setup
When the process finishes and all your devices are set up, you will see some instructions on how to test the setup. If you want to set up more devices, click Add more devices.
