This view allows you to select and apply an XBee profile to the current device.

1. Select the profile to apply

To apply a profile to your current device:

  1. Click the Load profile button.

  2. Select the desired profile in the system explorer to load and inspect it.

  3. Once the profile is loaded, its basic information appears below.

For XBee module profiles, you can open the full profile in the Profile Editor tool using the View full profile button.

  4. Finally, click Apply profile to begin the process.

To apply a profile to a device, you must first have an existing profile. This section assumes that the profile has already been created. If not:

2. Inspect the apply profile process

When the process starts, the Apply profile in progress view appears, providing a clearer layout for monitoring progress.

The top section of the view shows a header with the configuration of the profile being applied to the device. This configuration includes:

  • For XBee module profiles:

    • The XBee protocol of the profile’s firmware version

    • Firmware and hardware versions

    • Indicators showing whether the profile includes settings, a firmware update, and/or file system files

    • Profile name and description

  • For XBee border router profiles:

    • Firmware version in the profile

    • Profile name and description

The main section displays a large device outline that acts as a progress indicator, along with text showing the current task in the update process.

The progress indicator resets at each major step of the process, so a full update may restart it several times.

A toggleable details panel on the right side shows the apply log and step details. You can open or close it at any time to review the current status or inspect the complete process log.

When the update completes, whether successfully or with errors, the progress indicator updates with an icon representing the result:

  • If the update succeeds, you can continue working with the device normally.

  • If it fails, open the details panel to review the log and identify the issue.

After the process finishes, click the Back button below the main icon and task label to return to the profile browser and apply another profile if needed.
