The world-renowned XBee module is part of a family of cellular modems and RF modules that provide ultimate flexibility for IoT application developers, with three programmable form factors, and a range of popular wireless protocols. The XBee family also includes IoT gateways and management tools to connect, monitor and manage your XBee network.
XBee RF modules
Digi XBee RF modules provide wireless connectivity in a range of protocols and form factors to support today’s low-power applications. Easy-to-deploy, pre-certified, and configurable using Digi XBee Studio, Digi XCTU, the Digi XBee Mobile App and Digi Remote Manager® (Digi RM), these low-cost modules support all of your wireless design requirements.

XBee Cellular modems
Digi XBee offers the easiest way to integrate cellular connectivity into an OEM device. With the introduction of 3GPP standards like LTE Cat 1, LTE-M and NB-IoT, as well as older standards like 3G HSPA/GSM, Digi has the cellular modem for your design. Digi XBee Cellular modems provide easy cellular connectivity without having to go through a costly FCC or carrier end-device certification process.

XBee gateways and border routers
XBee gateways and border routers provide connectivity between XBee-based wireless networks, such as Zigbee, DigiMesh, or Wi-SUN, and IP networks. They act as bridges between local wireless devices and external systems, enabling data exchange across network domains.
An XBee gateway typically bridges wireless protocols such as Zigbee, DigiMesh, or LoRaWAN to IP or cellular networks. It can connect enterprise LANs to the Internet and often supports edge compute functions, such as data aggregation, protocol conversion, and encryption.
An XBee border router connects IPv6-based mesh networks, such as Wi-SUN, to IP networks. It routes IPv6 packets between the wireless and IP domains and manages network parameters such as addressing, security, and route propagation to ensure seamless integration.
Together, XBee gateways and border routers extend the reach of XBee networks and enable secure, scalable communication between local devices and cloud or enterprise applications.
