Configure an alarm/email notification group for a device profile

If you are creating alarms or want to send event and detailed systems logs to users in your organization, you can configure an alarm/email notification group for a device. Alarms are texted to a phone number and logs are attached to an email and emailed to the user.

You can configure up to five device profile notification groups, and more than one contact can be added to a group. A contact name is required, and you can enter an email address, a phone number, or both.

A notification group can be used for both application alarms and application logging.

To configure an alarm/email notification group:

  1. Log into the Z45 Controller's web UI.

  2. Click Admin Main.

  3. In the Options section, click Device Profile. The Device Profile page displays.

  4. Scroll down to the Alarm/Email Groups section.

  5. Click on one of the group options: Group 1, Group 2, Group 3, Group 4, or Group 5.

  6. In the Group x Name field, enter a descriptive name for the group.

  7. You can add a contact in the Add Alarm Contact section.

    1. In the Name field, enter the contact name. This is required.

    2. In the Email Address field, enter the email address for the contact.

    3. In the SMS Number field, enter a phone number for the contact, at which a text can be received.

    4. Click Add.

    5. Repeat the process to add more contacts to the group.

  8. Click Update to save the changes.

  9. Make sure you have also configured the email server that you want to use to send emails.
