Verify cellular network coverage using the CLI

If you have physical access to Connect Tank, you can use the CLI to verify the cellular signal strength using the CLI status command.

  1. On your laptop, go to www.digi.com/support to download the Connect Tankv2 firmware file.
  2. Open the enclosure and make sure the battery is connected and the SIM card is installed.
  3. Connect to your device using the CLI. See Open a terminal program and use CLI commands for information about connecting your computer to the device and opening a terminal program.
  1. Press the Wake button and wait 5-10 seconds after the cellular LED starts blinking. The command prompt appears in the terminal program window.
  2. At the command prompt, type status.
  3. Press Enter. The status information appears. Note that cellular network information is available only when the modem has connected to the cellular network. You may have to type status multiple times while the modem connects before the desired status information is available.
  4. Verify the cellular signal strength in the Signal strength option. For more details about all of the options, see status.
  5. Close the cover on the device. The cover snaps into place.

Note The Connect Sensor+ enclosure may require some force to close. This is intended as part of the design to ensure a robust seal in damp or dusty environments. For details about closing the Connect Sensor+ enclosure, see Closing the v2.
