Power supply unit (PSU) overview: AnywhereUSB 24 Plus
The AnywhereUSB 24 Plus has two power supply units on the back of the Hub, labeled PSU1 and PSU2. Corresponding power LEDs are on the front of the Hub, also labeled PSU1 and PSU2. When power is supplied to a power supply unit, the corresponding power LED is solid blue.
Each power supply unit (PSU) in the Hub includes a fan that cools the PSU. The fan in a PSU runs only when the PSU is powered. For information about the fans in the Hub, see Internal fans overview: AnywhereUSB 24 Plus.
Use one PSU
Only one power supply is needed to power the device. When using only one power supply, you can connect a power cord to either the PSU1 or PSU2 power supply unit. The power supply units work independently and one is not dominant over the other.
Use both PSUs: Recommended
For best performance of the Hub, Digi recommends that you purchase and connect an additional power supply.
-
If you use more than a few of the ports, more power is needed and an extra power supply is recommended. Refer to the AnywhereUSB data sheet for power supply information.
-
Two power cords maintain redundancy if one power supply fails. You can view the power supply LEDs on the front of the Hub to verify that both power supplies are active.
-
Using two power cords help maximize heat dissipation.
-
Digi recommends plugging each power cord into separate mains power circuits.
