Firmware updates

You can update the Connect Tank device firmware from either Remote Manager or the CLI. More than one firmware update option is available: standard firmware, or standard with continuous monitoring.

Update methods: Connect Sensor+ firmware

A firmware upgrade can happen only when Connect Tank is awake and connected to Remote Manager. Any firmware upgrades, configuration changes, or commands that have been schedules to occur offline or were added to a schedule in Remote Manager are pushed to Connect Tank at that time. If you need to upgrade the firmware before a scheduled push from Connect Tank, you can physically wake the Connect Tank device to force a connection between Connect Tank and Remote Manager.

For instructions, see Update the firmware from Remote Manager.

You must have physical access to Connect Tank to be able to use the CLI to update the firmware.

For instructions, see Update the firmware using the CLI.

Firmware options: Connect Sensor+ firmware

You can choose which firmware option you want to install: Standard or Standard with continuous monitoring. Be aware of the power considerations for these options.

The standard firmware provides you with the all of the available features, except for continuous monitoring. When you install the standard firmware, you can choose the power the Connect Tank device using the Connect Sensor battery or direct/mains power.

The continuous monitoring firmware provides you with the all of the features available in the standard firmware plus the continuous monitoring feature. With continuous monitoring, Connect Tank can constantly monitor sensors for an alarm by continually sampling sensor data.

CAUTION! When you install the continuous monitoring firmware, you are required to power the Connect Tank device using direct/mains power. The Connect Sensor battery should be used only as a battery backup if the external power source fails.

If you choose to install the continuous monitoring firmware, you must also enable it on your device.

For details, see Configure the Continuous Monitoring feature.
