Mount the RMS Z45 to a solid surface

The RMS Z45 features an IP66 enclosure that can be mounted to a solid surface, such as a wall. The RMS Z45 kit comes complete with cable glands, wire management accessories and a mounting kit. Pole mounting kits are available for purchase separately.

Note If the RMS Z45 is attached to the DIN rail within the enclosure, you much detach the RMS Z45 from the DIN rail before you mount the device.

To attach the RMS Z45 to a wall:

  1. Make sure you have the RMS Z45 mounting kit. Remove the set of 4 screws with wall anchors and 4 rubber sealing washers.

  2. Unplug the RMS Z45 from the main power supply.

  3. Open the enclosure using the enclosure key.

  4. Remove the RMS Z45 from the enclosure.

Note You must detach all of the following components before you can remove the device.

    1. Detach an accessory from the RMS Z45 if one has been attached.

    2. Detach the antenna cables from the RMS Z45.

    3. Disconnect the power supply from the RMS Z45.

    4. Detach the RMS Z45 from the DIN rail.

  5. Carefully measure the location of the mounting feet on the wall or other mounting surface.

  6. Drill a hole in the wall for each anchor, and insert an anchor into each hole.

  7. Place the enclosure on the wall, being careful to line up each mounting foot on the enclosure with an anchor in the wall.

  8. Place a rubber sealing washer over each mounting foot. Make sure that the washer completely covers the mounting foot.

  9. Insert a screw in each rubber sealing washer, and secure into the anchor in the wall.

Note As you secure the screws, make sure that the rubber sealing washers completely cover the mounting feet holes. This ensures a water-tight seal. If desired, you can also add a silicone sealant around the mounting feet to enhance the seal.

  1. The RMS Z45 kit includes four (4) weatherproof cable glands. Punch out the seal, run the cable, and hand-tighten for a water-tight seal. Use the wire management accessories from the mounting kit (zip ties and hook-and-loop wire management straps) to contain the cables.

  2. Re-assemble the RMS Z45 hardware.

    1. Attach the RMS Z45 to the DIN rail.

    2. Attach the antenna cables.

    3. Attach an accessory.

    4. Connect the power supply to the RMS Z45.

  3. Close and lock the hardware.

  4. Power the device.
