Discovering and configuring the Digi Passport device

See the Digi Passport Quick Start Guide that came with the Digi Passport device to connect the hardware and configure an IP address for the unit.

You can also use the DPA utility or Digi Device Discovery Utility to configure your device:

1. Download the appropriate tool for your operating system:
   1. Go to www.digi.com/products/consoleservers/digipassport.

   2. Click the Utilities tab under Product Support.

   3. Select your operating system from the drop-down menu.

   4. Download the DPA utility (for UNIX/Linux) or Device Discovery Utility (for Windows).

2. A login screen displays. Enter the default user name and password.

   • User name: The default user name is root.
   • Password: The unique, default password is printed on the device label. If that password does not work, the default password is dbps. If neither default works, it may have been updated. Contact your system administrator for help.

   Note The first time you log in to the web interface, you are required to change the password.

3. Use the utility to perform initial device configuration, as needed.
4. Configure the IP address. Once the Digi Passport device is configured with a valid IP address, log in to the Web user interface with username admin, password admin.
