Configure enhanced location tracking

Enhanced location tracking is used to monitor the real-time and historical geolocation of a cellular router based on its cellular signal metrics.

Required configuration items

• Access to Digi Remote Manager
• GNSS-enabled router
• DAL OS 25.5.52.20 firmware or newer installed

To track the real-time and historical geolocation of your cellular router:

  Web

1. Log into Digi Remote Manager, or log into the local Web UI as a user with full Admin access rights.

   To access the device configuration:

   From Digi Remote Manager

   1. Click Devices.
   2. From the device list, click the Name or Device ID.
   3. Click Settings.
   From the Local Web UI

   1. On the menu, click System. In the Configuration menu, click Device Configuration.

      

      The Configuration window displays.

2. Click Monitoring > Enhanced Location Services.

3. Click Enable to use this feature.

4. (Optional) In Interval, select the frequency at which data is sent from the cellular router to Digi Remote Manager. The default is 60 seconds.

  Command line

1. Access the device from Digi Remote Manager or from the local web UI.

   From Digi Remote Manager

   1. From the main menu, click Devices.

   2. From the device list, click the Name or Device ID for the device you want to access.

   3. Click the Console tab.

      The CLI window displays.

   From the local Web UI

   1. On the menu, click System. In the Administration menu, click Terminal.

      

      The CLI window displays.

      Depending on your device configuration, you may be presented with an Access selection menu. Type admin to access the Admin CLI.

2. To enable the enhanced location tracking feature:

   (config monitoring enhanced_location_services)> enable true

3. (Optional) To change the frequency at which data is sent from the cellular router to Digi Remote Manager:

   (config monitoring enhanced_location_services)> interval [value]

   with [value] being the frequency in seconds data is sent.
