Use the Connect Wizard mobile app for device connection

You can use the Connect Wizard mobile app to connect to the Connect Sensor devices near you that are awake, and then verify that any sensors connected to the Connect Sensor are working as expected.

Before you begin

To connect to the Connect Sensor devices near you:

Step 1: Install the Digi Connect Wizard mobile application (iOS only)

  1. On your phone, navigate to the App Store.

  2. Search for the Connect Wizard application. The Digi logo displays next to the app name.

  3. Click Get and install the app.

  4. When installation is complete, you will be asked to allow Connect Wizard to find BLE devices. Click Allow.

  5. The app can now be used to connect to your Connect Sensor.

Step 2: Enable the mobile app service for the Connect Sensor

  1. Access the Digi Axess Admin page. You must have Admin or Device User privileges to access this page.

  2. From the Services section, click Digi Axess Services. The Digi Axess Services page displays.

  3. Click Mobile App Connection. The Mobile App Connection Configuration page displays.

  4. Click the Enable Mobile App Connection toggle button. When the service is enabled, the toggle button is green.

  5. From the Automatically Disable Mobile App Connection list box, select an option that determines how long the service should remain enabled. When the selected time limit is reached, the service is automatically disabled.

  6. Click Update. A confirmation dialog displays.

  7. Click OK to complete the change.

Step 3: Wake up the device and connect to Digi Axess

  1. Use the magnet to wake up the Connect Sensor.

  2. The device connects to Digi Axess and pushes any collected data, and collects any configuration changes that are pushed from Digi Axess. This process make take a few minutes.

Step 4: Connect to the device on the Connect Wizard app

  1. Use the magnet to make sure the Connect Sensor is awake.

  2. Open the Connect Wizard app on your phone.

  3. Click Read Sensors. A list of the Connect Sensor devices that are awake and found by the Connect Wizard app displays in the app.

  4. Click on a device in the list. A list of the configured inputs connected to the Connect Sensor displays.

  5. Click on the name of that sensor in the app. The data from that sensor displays on the app screen.

    Repeat this step for all of the senors in the list.

  6. When your review is complete, close the Connect Wizard app.

Step 5: (Optional) Disable the mobile app service on the Connect Sensor

The mobile app service on the Connect Sensor is configured to be automatically disabled after a specified time limit. If you have completed your verification you can manually disable the mobile app service, if needed.
