Create a trunked VLAN route

Required configuration items

To create a VLAN:

 

  Web

  1. Log into Digi Remote Manager, or log into the local Web UI as a user with full Admin access rights.
  2. Access the device configuration:

    1. Locate your device as described in Use Digi Remote Manager to view and manage your device.
    2. Click the Device ID.
    3. Click Settings.
    4. Click to expand Config.

    1. On the menu, click System. Under Configuration, click Device Configuration.

      The Configuration window is displayed.

  3. Click Network > Virtual LAN.
  4. Type a name for the VLAN and click .
  5. Select the Device.
  6. Type or select a unique numeric ID for the VLAN ID.
  7. Click Apply to save the configuration and apply the change.
  1. Select the device in Remote Manager and click Actions > Open Console, or log into the TX54-PR local command line as a user with full Admin access rights.

    Depending on your device configuration, you may be presented with an Access selection menu. Type admin to access the Admin CLI.

  2. At the command line, type config to enter configuration mode:
    > config
(config)>
  3. Add the VLAN:
    (config)> add network vlan name
(config)>
  4. Set the device to be used by the VLAN: 
    1. (config network vlan vlan1)> device ?

Device: The Ethernet device to use for this virtual LAN
Format:
  /network/device/wan1
  /network/device/lan1
  /network/device/eth3
  /network/device/eth4
  /network/device/loopback
  /network/vlan/vlan1
  /network/bridge/lan1
  /network/wireless/ap/digi_ap1
  /network/wireless/ap/digi_ap2
Current value:

(config network vlan vlan1)>
    2. Add the device:
      (config network vlan vlan1)> device /network/device/eth4
(config network vlan vlan1)>
  5. Set the VLAN ID:
    (config network vlan vlan1)> id value

    where value is an integer between 1 and 4095.

  6. Save the configuration and apply the change
    (config network vlan vlan1)> save

  7. Type exit to exit the Admin CLI.

    Depending on your device configuration, you may be presented with an Access selection menu. Type quit to disconnect from the device.
