Carrier accounts

OEM Cloud is integrated with various cellular service providers so you can monitor your cellular data usage directly within OEM Cloud. To enable this functionality, OEM Cloud creates a link between your OEM Cloud-enabled device and its unique mobile identifier (ICCID for GSM and MEID, or ESN for CDMA).

To list the supported carriers, select Admin > Account Settings > Carrier Account.

Configuring a carrier account allows OEM Cloud to interface with that carrier to gather and display your data usage information. Add carrier-integrated device(s) to your inventory to begin viewing carrier data usage information directly within OEM Cloud.

Once you have configured a carrier account, the rate plans associated with that cellular service provider will be displayed within your list of subscriptions. Rate plans will correspond to cellular data or cellular SMS. If an SMS rate plan is not visible for your cellular service provider, either SMS usage is not available in your carrier’s API or OEM Cloud is not capable of sending or receiving SMS messages to mobile devices on your cellular plan.

When a carrier-integrated device is added to your OEM Cloud inventory, the carrier subscription corresponding to that device will be assigned automatically. However, in the following cases, it may be necessary to manually assign a carrier subscription:

Note Carrier data usage values available in OEM Cloud are updated in accordance with the carrier’s proprietary API, with frequency and timing of data refresh varying from carrier to carrier.

Note Carrier Subscription Management is provisioned by default with some OEM Cloud editions, but not all. If you are unable to configure a carrier account, contact Customer Service to add this service to your account.
