About data streams

Data streams are individual, detailed device or sensor values that Connect Tank reports to Remote Manager. For Connect Tank, data streams include time-stamped information such as milliamps (mA), voltage, custom scaled units, internal temperature, alarms, thresholds, hysteresis, and more. Select a specific data stream to see its current value, as well as historical data.

The Connect Tank data streams have a group and a corresponding short name. The following image and table provide details about the parts of a data stream.

 

Item Name Description
1 Connect Tank device ID Identifies the device.
2 Group

Identifies the device-specific function or sensor for the data stream. For example, ain1 corresponds to the sensor for Analog: Voltage Input 1.

3 Short name

Identifies the specific data point. In this example, val is the raw analog voltage input value.
