Host board design

A good power supply design is critical for proper device operation. If the supply voltage is not kept within tolerance, or is excessively noisy, it may degrade device performance and reliability. To help reduce noise, we recommend placing both a 1 uF and 100 pF capacitor as near to VCC as possible. If you use a switching regulator, we recommend switching frequencies above 500 kHz and you should limit power supply ripple to a maximum 50 mV peak to peak.

As with all PCB designs, make power and ground traces thicker than signal traces and make them able to comfortably support the maximum current specifications. Ground planes are preferable.
